How to Clean Your Vehicle’s Leather Seats

If you have a vehicle with leather seats, you are most likely enjoying the supple feel of the material as you drive around in comfort. Leather seating can make the interior of your vehicle look expensive and luxurious if you clean it properly, allowing it to look new for years to come. Here are some tips to use when cleaning your vehicle’s leather interior. Materials You Will Need: Vacuum cleaner with attachment Air compressor Vinegar Linseed oil Spray bottle Several pieces of microfiber cloth Soft-bristled brush Leather conditioner Remove Surface Dirt Before you start deep cleaning your leather seats, remove the surface dirt. Use a vacuum cleaner attachment to remove any dust or dirt particles from your leather seats. Hold the attachment close to the seats when cleaning, but do not allow it to scrape against the surface or it may leave scratch marks. If there are pieces of dirt embedded in the cracks where the arms are attached to the seat back, use an air compressor to blow them out. Deep Cleaning Do deep cleaning on your leather seats every few months to keep them looking their best. Make a mixture of one part vinegar and two parts linseed oil and place it inside a spray bottle. This is a natural cleaner that will not damage your seat. Spray the seat and rub with a piece of microfiber cloth. To get caked-on dirt out of the leather, use a soft-bristled brush to do the job. Spray the seat and gently rub the brush in a circular motion to loosen dirt from the leather. Use a clean piece of microfiber cloth to remove any dirt that accumulates on the surface. Conditioning After you have cleaned your leather seats, you will want to condition them to give them a shine that will show off the color of the leather. Leather conditioner can be bought in an auto supply store and applied easily by spraying on the surface. Use a clean piece of microfiber cloth to buff the conditioner into the leather. Use a circular motion when buffing so all the fibers of the leather will receive conditioning equally. What To Do If Your Precipitator’s Opacity Increases Quickly

Your kitchen’s precipitator serves an important purpose, which is making sure that fumes from your kitchen don’t get into the outside air to cause pollution. Therefore, it is important to have a good understanding of this piece of equipment, especially what to do if it malfunctions. One common malfunction for an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is when the opacity rises quickly on the machine, which can be indicative of deeper issues. Here’s what to do when the opacity of your ESP exhaust skyrockets.  1. Check the voltage meters Oftentimes, the most common cause of high opacity is a malfunctioning electrical connection in the ionization section. In order to check this, simply make sure that all of your voltage meters are operating at around the normal levels. If one of these levels is lower than usual, then you’ve found your problem and can move on to Step 2. If not, then the problem might be more deeply rooted than a bad connection, and will likely require the same protocol as Step 4.  2. Check for arcing A cause of low voltage could be arcing, which is when a spark forms inside your ESP. If you can observe this happening, either by seeing or hearing a spark, then shut the unit off immediately, as these arcs can cause fires or explosions inside your unit. Even if an explosion or fire doesn’t happen, you’ll still be losing efficiency due to this electrical phenomenon. Seeing or hearing sparks will require you to move on to the aforementioned Step 4.  3. Check the plates Since the dirt and grease in the air collects on plates in your ESP, a natural reason for these particles to no longer be able to be filtered out is if the plate is overwhelmed with particulate. A thick coating of grime will cause your system to be less efficient, increasing the system’s opacity. If you observe that the voltage meters are normal, try checking the collection plates in your machine. If they are covered with grime, then schedule to have them cleaned professionally (Step 4) or send the system through an automatic cleaning cycle.  4. Call your ESP maintenance company Since the cause of opacity is very often electrical within your ESP, you’ll need a trained professional like one from Fireproofing Corporation to deal with the issue, since taking matters into your own hands can damage the unit and cause you bodily harm.
